Halloween Class Picture 2006

I was lucky enough again to have another wonderful student teacher, Ms. Jimenez!

Class Library

This is our classroom library and our rainbow
carpet meeting area.

Classroom Setup

This is a quick peek across our room!

Calendar

This shows part of our morning calendar
and math warm-ups each day.

Pocket Chart Word Wall

This is a close up of our word wall. Ms. Whyte made our word wall from pocket charts so that we can get words from it easily.

Teachers Desk

This is Miss Whyte's desk area. We use the the
rainbow cart for our class turn in boxes and
behind the desk is our class jobs.

Green Carpet Reading Area

This is our green carpet reading area. This is
where we can use floor chairs and read our AR
books. We also use this area for math zones!

United States Postcard Exchange 2006

We exchanged postcards with K-8th grade classes from all over the United States. This helped us to learn about our country and about other students that are just like us!

Computers

We are very lucky to have 4 computers in our
classroom. Two are Dells and two are Macs that
Miss Whyte takes care of for us! We love using
technology in our classroom!

I've had many questions by teachers in portables so I added photos on to help get an idea of my setup. Please email me if you'd like to know how I did something.

View from the door

Carpet area, meeting, class library

Mailboxes and the only bookcase that came in the portable filled with my teacher binders.

Computers were set up on my wall with the windows.

Cubbies bought by our Principal!

How I sort my coppies and plans each week. I have folders by day and by subject.

My desk with one of my mac computers

I do my daily plans on powerpoint each day.

My TV was on top of my file cabinet on a carosel spinner.

Reading Table with strategy posters. I used the TV cart in the back right corner for my reading group baskets. Yesbelieve it or not there are two windows behind this table.

Accelerated Reader star charts. My kids could each add a star to their chart each time they passed an AR test.
